Exploring Christianity

What is the gospel? Why did Jesus die? Is it possible to understand the Bible?

Christianity can seem confusing to a new Christian or an unbeliever. Exploring Christianity is a 6-week course designed to teach some of the basics of the Christian faith, striving to offer clarity to those often perplexing issues. Not only is it a casual atmosphere that lends itself to laughter, but also comes complete with childcare and a homemade meal – all for free.

Please check with us for the details of the next course.

I thought that I was going to Christianity Explained just to keep my friend company and make her more comfortable. It was the fall of 2005 and I was a junior in college and I'd been going to what was then Lord of Life Church for about one month. I didn't really think that I needed Christianity to be explained to me at all. I pretty much had it figured out. Little did I know that God would use those classes in my life in the way that He did. The gospel made sense to me for the first time. I was given a new understanding of who Christ is and what a church looked like. It is a great course for anyone who is searching for answers.

When our new neighbors first asked us to go to "a dinner at their church with a short program afterwards," I said yes because I was so bored at night – my husband was working the night shift a lot. But then I immediately regretted my response and wanted to find a way out of going. I felt too guilty to lie or make up an excuse to get out of it. So I went. And I liked it. God was drawing me to it. My husband came with me for the rest of the meetings. The leaders answered so many of our questions and they answered them biblically. They were eager to answer us and show us the "why" part. That was in 1998. In 1999 we became official members and have been there since.
